FAQ

  • Are you currently accepting new clients?
Yes! We currently have availability for parents for Parent Hope and Parent Confidence Project individual coaching online. We have some limited availability for Schema Therapy online currently. Please reach out to us to discuss further.
  • What about Parent Hope and Parent Confidence Groups?
Our groups run on a rolling basis throughout the year in Wollongong. If you are interested, please register for our group on the homepage. Once we have your details, we will keep you updated on dates and times of upcoming events. If a group is not running at a time you are available, we can discuss one on one online coaching instead.
  • Do you see children and adolescents?
Based on the significant research base in family systems and child and adolescent mental health (especially in Bowen Family Systems Theory; see Research in Bowen Theory — The Bowen Center for the Study of the Family), we believe that for many families, the most time efficient, effective and lasting intervention for children and adolescents struggling with emotional and behavioural issues involves working with parent(s) directly through interventions such as the Parent Hope/Confidence Project. Given a lack of clinics working in this way, our clinic focuses on work with parent(s) to fill this service gap. We of course recognise that for many families, a child focused intervention is appropriate, and we would direct such families to any number of other psychiatric/psychological clinics. However, even in those cases, intervention with the parent(s) can still be highly impactful, so would still be recommended. If you would like to discuss further, please get in touch and we can offer a free brief consult by phone to see if the program is for you. For young adults and adults 18+ we do offer Schema Therapy online. We may consider seeing a 17-year-old adolescent for Schema Therapy if appropriate. Again, please get in touch and we can offer a free brief consult by phone to discuss possible options.
  • Are sessions face to face or online?
Red Panda is a predominantly online clinic. We use a secure platform for sessions in line with growing research that online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face. This allows us to offer quality care in a more accessible manner. This means you will require a fast and reliable internet connection, a quiet place to conduct the session without interruption, and an electronic device suitable to run Microsoft Teams. For Parent Hope and Confidence coaching, you will additionally need a device with a screen large enough to view a virtual whiteboard. We do offer our Parent Hope/Parent Confidence group programs face-to-face a limited number of times in the year. If you are interested, please reach out to us!
  • Are you a bulk-billing clinic?
Yes and no. Parent Interventions We are generally a private fee-paying clinic.
